The town is situated on the Jurassic Coast, and only a few miles from Dorchester. It’s a great location and also a fantastic base to explore the amazing Jurassic coastline.

Weymouth is a fun and enjoyable place with so much going on, and the pièce de résistance?… it’s got to be the amazing long and golden Sandy Beach with the stunning views of the bay and the coastline!

The long Georgian era esplanade (or promenade) is a great to walk or stroll along alogn, or perhaps, walk along on the 3 mile golden sandy beach or through the tide line and admire the outstanding views all around.

Along the way there are many places to browse and enjoy, on and off, this delightful esplanade right up to the harbour.

There’s a large harbour at Weymouth which is very popular with visitors, tourists and the locals, who enjoy strolling around enjoying the comings and goings of the varous boats, yachts and not forgetting the fishing boats.

Very good looking yachts and cruisers can pass through the road swing bridge when it opens up at certain times to allow the vessels to enter into the large mooring part of the harbour.

With pubs, inns and places to eat around the harbour its a very pleasant place to be. There’s a long harbour arm to walk along offering great and commanding views looking back to the olong sandy beach, esplanade and the town.

There’s loads to see and do in Weymouth and the surrounding area, as well as along the Jurassic Coast. There are many, and a large variety, of visitor attractions, events, exhibitions and activities to visit enjoy – both outdoors and indoors! 

As well as the fabulous golden sandy beach, various attractions include the Jurassic Skyline, Weymouth SeaLife Adventure Park, Radipole Lake Nature Reserve, Greenhill Gardens and Sandworld. There’s are also many and various country & town walks, markets and seafront shops and amusements to enjoy.
