Discover West Bexington
Visit West Bexington… on the Jurassic Coast today, a popular and lovely small village as you come off the main road at Swyre. and approach this small Jurassic coastal village situated between West Bay and Bridport. Looking up north above the village are the hills of the Ridgeway, an ancient causeway track walked by Neolithic man.

Parking is easy too – through the village and at the bottom of the hill is a large pay and display car park right on the shingle beach itself with a tourist information point and map by the pay machines.
Enjoy a morning or an afternoon
Try some fishing… at West Bexington where sea fishing is very popular around here. So, if it’s your thing, then don’t forget to bring all the gear!

If you love wildlife – then it’s great news here at West Bexington! Just park up and enjoy the Dorset Wildlife and Nature Reserve on the beach (see the tourist info point) with reedbed and typical coastal scrub offering a great habitat for the wildlife and great for bird watching and capturing some amazing wildlife photography – so don’t forget the camera!

Walk or just relax
Feeling energetic… and like longer walks? Then try the Jurassic beach path to Chesil Beach and Abbotsbury and enjoy some beautiful scenery with hills above and commanding views of the sea. The opposite direction leads to Burton Bradstock but is harder going on the shingle as the path is corroded, or alternatively head up the steep hill and get onto the ancient Ridgeway path and head to Burton that way and enjoy outstanding countryside and sea views.

Perhaps you want a lazy day, then no problem here! Just relax in the comfort of your car and enjoy the commanding sea views. Just remember to bring some lunch and drink to make the day even more enjoyable.

And finally… there’s a cafe near the car park, but please check opening times, and The Manor Hotel, a converted 16th century manor house, is approximately a third of the way up the hill on the right and is great for refreshments and lunches as well a wedding venue, but again please check opening times first.
Explore West Bexington on the Jurassic coast – a great place for walking or just taking in the sea views.
