The beach… just a short walk from the village is the delightful Burton beach with the stunning 45m cliffs (there’s also a pay & display car park here), where you’ll also find the Hive Beach Café. The renowned Café is well known for serving great food, including amazing breakfasts, as well as fresh, local seafood.

Exploring the village… near the centre, and next to the small old school in a picturesque setting, is the beautiful Church of St Mary’s, with parts dating from late 14th or early 15th century. The small village green is a delight with its great and old tree at its centre with a seat around the trunk.

The quaint old school, which is still in use, with its playground is right next to the church, opposite some thatched cottages, and a beautiful stream which flows through the Bride Valley and directly past the school. There are various footpaths around this beautiful village that will take you through some of the most glorious and peaceful Dorset countryside.

Go exploring… a frequent bus service passes both ways through the village for those that don’t drive. Leave the car for the day and go exploring. You’ll be amazed at how much more you notice when walking and discover some amazing walks and views.

Go up high with the footpaths on the Jurassic Coast clifftops going both west and east and discover some amazing and outstanding sea and country views. There’s even a golf course up there, it must be one of the best golf courses views!
